I have been looking at what my Blog offers and the other options that are out there for hosting Blogs and with some input from a few people, noteably Lisa and Lauren I have decided to move my Blog.

The new address is http://castleparkdesigns.wordpress.com/

It is still a work in progress but I am hoping to get most of it finished and a few new posts on it later today.

I really hope that you can visit my new blog.

Thanks again and I hope to see you soonJoannhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09938168262297454404noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1909699098782538580.post-65354552361838971072012-01-12T20:07:00.000-04:002012-01-12T20:07:23.442-04:00All you need is....Since we are almost midway through January already (can you believe it?) I thought I might start to make some Valentine Cards. Here is my first attempt, I wanted to keep it somewhat CAS so I decied to just emboss the background for this one.

I used the Blossom folder by Crafts-Too and a dollar bin stamp. At the Cutting Garden crop night I got to use some new dies that are truly to "Die For" LOL This one is by Memory Box but actually cannot remember the name. There were so many beautiful flourishes that I had not laid eyes on before and I can't wait until the next crop night!

Hope to make lots more Valentine Card for my friends and co-workers so back to it. Hope you can come back and visit again.

Lately, I have been entering a few challenges and in the interest of saving some time here is a link to my gallery on SplitCoastStampers.

My Gallery

The challenges have been a lot of fun. If you have a moment to pop by my gallery that would be great. You can click on the key word in any card to see the other entries for the challenge (just in case you didn't know)... I am still learning with all of this but its a lot of fun.
Considering it was such a rainy dreary day here in Nova Scotia I thought this might lift my spirits. These cards were pretty simple to put together. I used paper from S.E.I Couture which has some lovely pastel colours to work with. One of the stamps I used was from Heartfelt Creations called Classic Message and the other was just an Inkadoo stamp I found in the dollar bin that I thought was really nice and one I could use a lot.

Here is another view of one of the cards.

Oh, I also used the deco fan punch from Martha Stewart which is one of my favorites.

For this card I used my double arch punch around the page from Martha Stewart. I am really happy with the way these turned out.

Oh well, all good things must come to an end I guess!

Here is my first ever entry to the SCS Weekly I Spy Challenge. I was a bit nervous submitting after seeing all of the lovely entries but decided to give it a go anyway. I thought that with all good friends a nice bottle of wine is very fitting. Here is my attempt at some "friend" wine tags. Thanks to my brother-in-law Tony for suppling me with the template

This is the first time I have made this type of card and I think they turned out very nice. I used some really nice paper I found by one of my most fast becoming favorite supplier DCWV called The Natural Stack. I fell in love with the neutral palette of this paper… for some strange reason I find it very “calming.” The sentiment stamp I used was just a cheapie Kaisercraft stamp I picked up in the $1.50 bin. I also heat embossed a floral flourish as a backdrop for a few prima flowers. I think I have the same feddish as my sister Lisa for the prima flowers <span style="font-family: Wingdings; mso-ascii-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-char-type: symbol; mso-hansi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-symbol-font-family: Wingdings;">J LOL… I just need to learn to do them justice!
I liked the poinsettia so much I wanted it to be the focal point of the card. I am pretty pleased with the outcome. All in all it was a bit time consuming trying to match up the stamps with the die cuts but I think it was worth the effort. The Happy Holiday stamp is from the Paper Company Studio called Snowflake. I really like this stamp set I use it a lot. I added some snowflakes as well to the background with whatelse, heat embossing. I given the heat embossing a bit of a break but I'm back at it (lol).

Well it's my last post for the night so here it goes... I found some outline stickers that I fell in love with. I couldn't believe how many designs they have in these. I just had to try one. I thought the Christmas trees were so cute and there are loads of ways you could do them but I thought I would try to use some of my pearlized paints to try and color the trees. Overall I really liked how they turned out and can see myself maybe trying a few other designs. I found a new favorite spellbinders Labels Twenty die cut and thought I would use it for this card. I added some ribbon and a glittery snowflake and voila another Christmas card completed.

Hope you like it : )

Here is another Christmas Card I managed to finish over the weekend. This stamp is by Aladine that I thought was really cute. (unfortunately they do not seem to name their stamps so I am unable to tell you the name). I was a bit unsure how I was going to use it but I think it turned out pretty good and I thought the ribbon, which I found in my travels at Michaels was quite fitting for the card. I used one of the cuttlebug embossing folders and some red stickles for color. After a few attempts I was able to make a bow (not the prettiest bow) but it works. I think I will be practicing my bowmaking skills for quite some time.

It's hard to believe another weekend has come and gone... time just flies this time of year and there never seems to be enough time to get everything done that you want to.

I've been trying out a couple of new stamps and dies that I have. I really love this stamp set from Heartfelt Creations called Snowy Cardinal. I am still struggling with the blending techniques using the copic markers but with more practice I think I will get better at it. I used my scalloped circle and standard circles as well as a cute Holiday diecut by spellbinders for the flouish. I like the way this card turned out. Hope you do too.

First off I have to thank my brother in-law Tony “The Digi Master” from Crafting Cottage for creating this lovely stamp for everyone to use. If you like it they have it posted here for download.

I really like the way it turned out. I used my Spellbinder dies to cut out the stamp and used paper from my Winter Magic Stack by DCWV (which I am in love with!). I finished it off with some blue sparkle ribbon that I found at Michael’s and a few embellishments that I picked up on my travels. I also added a little bling to a few of the snowflakes to add some shimmer.

You know I liked the Digi stamp when I did not heat emboss anything <img align="absMiddle" alt="Happy" border="0" class="smileyImg" event.datatransfer.setdata(?text?,??);="" id="img_1058063" src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_1_3.gif" title="Happy" /> I guess I will have to heat emboss twice on the next card! lol

I love this tree stamp. It is a Penny Black stamp from the Winter Wonders collection. I really love the Penny Black stamps. They are so much fun. I still have a few more to stamp so stay tuned for more.

I used my Sugar Plums paper from Recollections, Spellbinders for the shapes and a few embellishments that I found at the dollar store. Got to love the Dollar Store.

I was imspired by a candy cane that I saw for this card.
Take 2All of the snow we are having has me thinking about making snowmen but it is too cold outside so I am making them in my Studio instead. This way they don't leave puddles on the floor when they melt.

This is another take on a snowman that I came up with.

I used my Inkadinkado snowman stamp and my new Spellbinders Impressabilities Flourish for the embossing. I still need a little practice with the embossing but I like it. I also used the Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Sixteen for the shape around the snowman. I finished it off with my Penny Black "Let it Snow" stamps which my wonderful husband also bought when we were in Vancouver! I have to love that he feeds my addiction!

Also did I mention that I heat embossed the snowman? What can I say? I like heat embossing. I wonder if I can heat emboss my purse?

Thanks for visiting and stay warm and dry.Joannhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09938168262297454404noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1909699098782538580.post-50287622870118205002011-11-23T20:25:00.000-04:002011-11-23T20:25:36.635-04:00Frosty the SnowmanGood snowy evening to everyone out there in Cyberspace, It's been a very messy day here but the snow does put you in the Christmas Spirit!

This is my latest creation using my JustRite Vintage Christmas stamps. I really love these stamps and I have to thank my wonderful husband for getting these for me.

I used paper from the Winter Magic stack by DCWV (Die Cuts with a View) and my Spellbinders for the shapes. Of course I used Heat Embossing for the snowman. I tried to heat emboss the cat but she would not sit still. Just kidding. : )

Thanks for checking in, until next time ...Joannhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09938168262297454404noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1909699098782538580.post-82454326124528501462011-11-14T20:08:00.000-04:002011-11-14T20:08:29.305-04:00Oh Christmas Tree!Hi again,

Here is another Christmas card with guess what... yes, MORE heat embossing! I think I am officially addicted now. I am determined to try every possible color combination... so here is another one. This time I chose gold embossing on a green background. In hindsight, I wish I had chosen a darker green (actually my husband Miles suggested this) but I couldn't actually give in to him and let him think he was right... so I stuck to my original choice... lol : )

The stamp is "Traditional Christmas Tree" from Hero Arts and the paper I used was Recollections Naughty or Nice. I added a homemade quilled rose (thanks again to my kind sister who taught me how to make these lovely little gems). I really hope she doesn't start charging me for lessons because it would get pretty expensive really fast!

Thanks again for checking-in. I really do appreciate it.Joannhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09938168262297454404noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1909699098782538580.post-43247023543832723952011-11-14T19:51:00.000-04:002011-11-14T19:51:25.303-04:00Festive Christmas CenterpieceHi there to my new blog friends!

I wanted to post this card yesterday but I ran out of time ! It's hard to believe how fast time goes when you are having so much fun crafting.

I really appeciate my sister Lisa sharing all of her fellow blog friends with me and was really excited to see my new followers.

During our craft night this weekend we worked on this card but did not get it finished until Sunday. I am really happy with how it turned out. Lisa showed me how to create my own background and of course, I had to use my new favorite techique heat embossing - this time I tried white embossing on a black background. I think it gives the card a dramatic effect.

Thanks for visiting and have a great evening everyone!
I borrowed the stamp from Lisa. It is by Hampton Art Outlines and this is the very first card that I heat embossed. Thank you Lisa for the lesson. I think I am addicted to heat embossing and I see a lot of this in my future. Lisa what have you done to me?
